From Experiment to Experience: My Journey with OpenAI's New GPTs

OpenAI shook things up about a month ago when they unveiled their new GPT’s. This new offering rolled up OpenAI's most powerful AI capabilities into one sleek package, combining custom instructions, plugins, code interpretation, DALL-E integration, and more into a single user-friendly tool.

I’ve been eagerly testing out these new GPT models over the past weeks. My goal was to see if they could truly transform and enhance my workflow, business and life in meaningful ways. The results? While not a complete game changer, the new GPT’s definitely shows promise in making AI more accessible and useful in daily applications.

List of different specific use case GPT’s I’ve built for projects I’m currently working on. Feel free to reach out and discuss all things GPT.

The most notable improvement is the convenience and ease-of-use GPTs provide. As a heavy user of AI models, having OpenAI’s language, image generation, reasoning and even coding capabilities unified into a single interface has been so convenient. I can now quickly build customised AI solutions tailored to my specific needs, feeding the models key background context and instructions needed to handle specialised use cases.

The streamlining certainly makes experimenting with AI more regular and engaging too. Just over the past month, I’ve crafted everything from helpful writing assistants to prototyped ideas for AI business tools using the versatile new GPT framework. While not every experiment has led to something viable enough to share publicly, the experience has been invaluable.

As we wrap up 2023, I plan to spend the holidays thinking about how to best leverage GPTs and ChatGPT models alike for another year. While hype may be cooling for now, exciting upgrades like the GPT Marketplace coming in 2024 hint that the AI fun has only just begun. Stay tuned for more dispatches from the frontlines of AI experiments in 2024!

Wishing everyone happy holidays and a wonderful new year!
